(1488–1548), German scholar, teacher, musician, composer, printer, and publisher. The premier printer of the Wittenberg reform movement, he published numerous works of Martin Luther and other reformers. His great significance is, as editor and publisher, to have shaped the theology and practice of the music of the Wittenberg reformation into a liturgically conservative, musically traditional, and theologically evangelical form.
