Ruled Deheubarth from the death of Llywelyn in 1023 until 1033. His family came from south-east Wales and he may have taken advantage of the quarrel between Llywelyn and his son Gruffydd. Rhydderch's son Caradoc died in 1035, but another son, Gruffydd, regained Deheubarth in c.1044.
