the reputed author of a metrical Chronicle of England from Brutus to Henry III, for much of which he drew upon Laʒamon. It is written in long lines and is not the work of a single hand. It contains a famous description of the death of Simon de Montfort at the battle of Evesham and a section in praise of England.
