Quick Reference

A device designed to eject astronauts from the Gemini spacecraft in the event of the explosion of its Titan II rocket on the launch pad. The rocat was never used, but was designed to eject a crew member and his or her seat about 92 m upwards and 305 m to the side of the craft. A parachute would then open, stabilized by a small balloon-parachute called a ballute.
