A novel by Borrow, published 1857. ‘Romany Rye’ in gypsy language means ‘Gypsy Gentleman’, a name applied to Borrow from his youth by Ambrose Smith, the Norfolk gypsy. This book is a sequel to Lavengro, and continues the story of the author's wanderings and adventures.
