(b Leitmeritz [now Litoměřice], c.1750; d Ludwigslust, 30 June 1792). Bohemian composer. He studied theology but in 1773 joined the court chapel of the Prince of Oettingen-Wallerstein as a double-bass player; he was promoted to Kapellmeister in 1785. In 1781–2 he visited Paris. From 1789 until his death he was Kapellmeister to the Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin at Ludwigslust.
