Quick Reference

A group of British artists, whose full name was the Brotherhood of English Ruralists, founded in 1975 by the former Pop artist Peter Blake after his move from London to the countryside near Bath. They embodied a rural traditionalism and a love of rustic imagery that was at odds with much of the spirit of contemporary art at that time. In spirit they harked back to the idealized imagery of the early Pre-Raphaelites.
