Premiered 17 May 1924 at Comte Étienne de Beaumont's Soirées de Paris, Théâtre de la Cigale, Paris, with Massine and Eleanora Manna. Later versions include Lifar (Paris Opera, 1935), Darrell (Western Theatre Ballet, 1961), and Milloss (Vienna State Opera, 1963).
