Quick Reference

[CP]

Late Palaeo‐Indian communities occupying southern California in the period 9000–8000 bc. They post‐date local Clovis sites, and are characterized by the presence of leaf‐shaped points/knives, choppers, scrapers, and hammerstones. The exploitation of coastland and marshland seems to have been important to these groups.
