Italian dancer. She made her debut in 1865 at La Scala in P. Taglioni's Flik and Flok and toured widely in Italy, Austria, and England. In 1866 she went to America, making her debut in the New York production of The Black Crook. Later, at the Paris Opera, she created the ballerina roles in Mérante's Sylvia (1876) and Yedda (1879). She was considered one of the beauties of her time. In 1875 she wrote the preface for a book about dance technique, Terpsichore.
