German composer. Worked at Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, Stanford Univ., Calif., and at Ger. Acad., Rome, 1978–9. Won first Schneider‐Schott prize for young Ger. composers, 1986. His ‘musical action in seven acts’, Patmos, a setting of Revelations was commissioned by city of Munich, where it was first performed in 1990 in a prod. by Ruth Berghaus.
