Quick Reference

A vocational qualification which recognizes and accredits the skills and knowledge used in the workplace. SPAs are designed to provide basic skills which will be attractive to employers and which candidates can build upon when working towards achieving a full Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ). However, unlike SVQs, there is no requirement to produce evidence from the workplace. Students can receive accreditation through college, school, or training.

http://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/2591.html Provides an outline of this qualification and details of the subject areas in which it is currently available.
