Quick Reference

Reputed son of king Sigeberht II, succeeded in 738, but may have been ruling jointly with Swaefberht. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle reported that he was slain in 746, but gave no detail. If he really was the son of Sigeberht II, whose death is proposed for no later than 664, Selered must have been extremely old to have been killed in battle.
