Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A system in most English police forces whereby victims of crime can report offences on the Internet or by post without speaking to a police officer. The scheme is particularly aimed at reporting hate crime. Self‐reporting forms are usually available at post offices, doctors' surgeries, Citizen Advice Bureaux and other public buildings. Victims can report crimes anonymously which means they cannot be detected but it does help by showing the pattern of crime in an area.

Subjects: Law.
