Is a colloquial term used in England for refusing to talk or associate with someone. This process of the social isolation of a particular individual occurs in work groups where the person is deemed unwelcome by their co-workers. This might be the result of their behaviour that has transgressed the norms (e.g. by being a rate-buster). Alternatively it might simply be through prejudice, thus it is sometimes experienced by ethnic minorities in white-dominated workplaces and women in male-dominated workplaces. If persistent, then it can be seen as a form of harassment. Presumably, workers in the city of Coventry do not use the term.
