Completed Mussorgsky's opera Sorochintsy Fair 1930. Wrote opera The Taming of the Shrew (1946–56); 5 syms. (1925–62); choral sym.‐poem Lenin (1931); vn. conc.; hn. concertino; 9 str. qts. (1923–63); pf. trio; pf. mus.; and songs.
