(1200/10–1266/71) Seminal English logician. Sherwood's works included Introductiones in Logicam, Syncategoremata, De Insolubilia and there are others of more doubtful authorship. He is one of the authors of the ‘terminist’ logic that concentrates more upon the properties of terms than of whole sentences, especially distinguishing categorematic from syncategorematic terms.
