Quick Reference

A simple exercise for the shoulder muscles, commonly used in warm-up and cool-down routines.

▪ Stand upright, feet slightly apart, hands by your side and back straight. Slowly lift your shoulders as high as possible (try to touch your ears). Hold for a few seconds then gently lower the shoulders. Relax and repeat about five times, remembering to maintain a steady rhythm of breathing in when you lift your shoulders and out when you lower them.
