An organization effectively founded by Swami Muktānanda, under the direction of his guru, Swami Nityānanda. Developed in the mid 1950s at an āśram at Ganeśpuri, near Mumbai (which, under the name Gurudev Siddha Peeth, remains its headquarters), Siddha Yoga was spread to the West in the 1970s, and is now established in over forty other āśrams across the world, of which the most important is the Shree Muktānanda Ashram in New York State. Siddha Yoga's current leader, and ‘living master’, is Swami Cidvilāsānanda. The organization propagates a mixture of Kashmiri Śaivism and kuṇḍalinī-based yoga techniques.
