(d. 1996) Indian British writer and activist. Founded the Muslim Institute in London in 1972. Campaigned through his writings for political Islam, declaring his support for the revolution in Iran and Ayatollah Khomeini's fatwa against Salman Rushdie. In 1989 founded the Muslim Parliament, which he led until his death.
