Is an approach to working, whereby a manager concentrates on their own function or area without thinking about how they might integrate with others. Whilst this has often occurred across different business functions, such as between sales and manufacturing, it can also be seen within business functions. For example, within the HR function, silos can develop between resourcing (recruitment and selection) and development (training). The consequent lack of internal fit is potentially detrimental to the organization.
