single-stranded conformational polymorphism

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A method for detecting point mutations (in amplified genomic DNA) by the electrophoretic separation of single-stranded nucleic acids. For conformationally unstable single-stranded DNA even single nucleotide changes are sufficient to alter secondary structure and have a detectable effect on mobility.
