Quick Reference

A family of serine/threonine kinases (EC 2.7.11.1) that phosphorylate ribosomal S6 protein and stimulate protein production in mitogen-activated cells. Various forms are known (α1–6, β1–2, δ1): p70 is S6 kinase β1 (525 aa) or β2 (482 aa).
