A NASA satellite measuring X-ray, ultraviolet, visible, near-infrared, and total solar radiation. The observations are specifically designed to monitor short-term variability, long-term changes (particularly those related to climate), atmospheric ozone concentrations, and levels of UV-B (see ultraviolet radiation). It continues measurements carried out by the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite.
