A celebrated Śaiva temple town and tīrtha on the West coast of Gujarat. Sacked by the Muslim marauder, Maḥmūd of Ghazna (971–1030 ce) in 1025/6, the main temple has been rebuilt several times since, most recently in the 1990s. It is one of the twelve jyotirliṅga sites.
