Austrian-US dance writer. He studied at the Universities of Vienna and Columbia and contributed to Dance Magazine, Ballet Today, and Dance News as well as being contributing editor of Dance Scope. He lectured at Barnard College and has written several books, including The Dancer's Image (New York, 1971), The Mary Wigman Book (Middletown, 1975), and Dance in its Time (New York, 1981). He was author-editor of The Dance has Many Faces (New York, 1951).
