Quick Reference

Claimed by some to be a School of Kashmir Śaivism founded by Vasugupta. Its existence is largely predicated on a series of commentaries on the Spandakārikā (‘Stanzas on Vibration’, authorship uncertain). This tradition appears to have been shaped by Kṣemarāja, and so the Spanda ‘School’ seems to be effectively a satellite of the Trika and Pratyabhijñā Schools.
