German Nazi leader. He was the official architect for the Nazi Party, designing the grandiose stadium at Nuremberg (1934). An efficient organizer, he became (1942) Minister for Armaments and was mainly responsible for the planning of Germany's war economy, marshalling conscripted and slave labour in his Organization Todt to build strategic roads and defence lines. He was imprisoned after the war.
