A device on a space vehicle used to deploy a geosynchronous or geostationary satellite. On the space shuttle, the satellite is located in the cargo bay on the large round spin table that turns at 50 revolutions a minute. The shuttle is positioned at the proper attitude, the satellite is spun, pyrotechnic charges release clamps holding it on the table, and four coiled springs then boost the satellite into space.
