Bp. of Tremithus in Cyprus. He was a peasant who, according to tradition, had suffered in the Diocletianic persecution. As bishop he is said to have attended the Council of Nicaea; he was certainly present at that of Sardica (c.343). There are many legends attached to his life. Feast day in the E., 12 Dec.; in the W., 14 Dec.
