‘The Sūtra of Queen Śrīmālā’, a middle-period Mahāyāna sūtra important for its teachings related to the ‘embryonic Buddha’ (tathāgata-garbha) theory, the ‘one-vehicle’ (Ekayāna) doctrine, and its valorization of the female in the form of Queen Śrīmālā, the chief character of this text.
