A meeting held to monitor progress towards the objective set out in a statement of special educational needs. It is appropriate to decide if any amendments to the description of needs or the provision described in the statement should be made. Statements must be reviewed at least annually, though it is possible to call interim meetings if necessary. All involved professionals and parents must be invited to the review. The views of the student must also be sought and recorded in the report from the meeting. Guidance for the timescales for the review can be found in the Code of Practice Special Educational Needs. Copies of the report are sent to all involved in the review and to the local authority.
