English? mason. He made the wall of the King's Forge at Winchester, Hants. (1180–1), became Master of the King's Works at Corfe Castle, Dorset (1213), and built part of the Great Hall at Winchester Castle (1220s). He probably contributed to the design of the retrochoirs of Winchester Cathedral (1202–c.1235) and St Mary Overie (now Southwark Cathedral—1208–35).
