(1815–91).

Danish architect. A pupil of Hetsch, he designed the Concert Hall, Bazaar, and other graceful late-Classical buildings at the Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen (1843), for the entrepreneur Carstensen. He also designed the Casino (1845–7), later Copenhagen's first commercial theatre (1848), but intended by Carstensen as a ‘Winter Tivoli’. Stilling's Boutique Schwartz, 3 Svaertegade, Copenhagen, was strongly influenced by Schinkel's work. Stilling wrote a history of Church Architecture (1870).
