squint: any abnormal alignment of the two eyes. The strabismus is most commonly horizontal (see esotropia, exotropia) but it may also be vertical (see hypertropia, hypotropia). Double vision is possible, but the image from the deviating eye usually becomes ignored. See also heterophoria.
