Quick Reference

Aeolian sand transport occurs primarily in the form of streamers—‘wriggles’ of sand—that are driven by distinct eddies travelling down toward the surface through the boundary layer and scraping across the bed while exciting saltation along their trail (Baas (2007) Geomorph. 91, 3–4).
