A plot of the resultant moment exerted about an axis through a joint (or the external force exerted on a joint) against an appropriate measure of joint configuration justially the included joint angle or the anatomical joint angle). The resultant joint moment (Nm) forms rhe y-axis, and the joint configuration (in degrees) forms the x-axis. Strength curves are used clinically to determine the status of patients before giving them an exercise prescription, and to monitor rehabilitation. They have also been used by sports scientists to determine the effects of different training regimes.
