Danish computer scientist. Stroustrup graduated from the University of Aarhus in mathematics and computer science (1975) and received a doctorate in computer science from Cambridge University (1979). From 1979, while working at the Bell Telephone Laboratories, he developed the C++ programming language. He continued to work for Bell Laboratories until 2002, when he became a professor at Texas A&M University.
