Quick Reference

The correlation between the structure of a molecule and its biological action derived from systematically altering the structure and assaying for activity. The quantitative structure–activity relationship (QSAR) takes this further by using computed parameters of shape and charge distribution to describe the structure. A common hope is that the use of QSAR will facilitate rational drug design.
