Russian-born Germanastronomer, son of F. G. W. Struve. He worked at Pulkovo Observatory, where he collaborated with his father in the search for double stars, publishing catalogues of his own. He accurately determined the rate of change of precession, and estimated the velocity of the Sun in the Galaxy from the proper motions of nearby stars.
