Praise be to God. An expression similar to hallelujah. Glorification (tasbih) of God is essential to the practice of divine remembrance (dhikr). The expression is frequently employed in the daily language of Muslims. It forms part of an optional litany after each prayer; it is uttered in the various postures of the five daily ritual prayers (salat) and is also commonly used as an expression of surprise or admiration if something good has occurred.
