Quick Reference

The probability that a person, or a component, or a device, survives until time t. It is equal to the reliability function, which is the probability that the person is still alive, or the component is still working, at time t. The survivor function, S(t), is given by S(t)=1− F(t), where F(t) is the lifetime distribution function. See also hazard rate.
