In the Apocrypha, a woman of Babylon falsely accused of adultery by two Elders but saved by the sagacity of Daniel, who questioned the accusers and demonstrated that their accounts were contradictory, in particular in the name of the tree under which she was alleged to have met her lover. The story of Susanna is told in the Apocryphal book of this name.
