Japanese vn. teacher. Son of maker of violins. Founded Suzuki Qt. 1928 with 3 of his brothers. Founded Tokyo Str. Orch. which introduced baroque mus. to Japanese listeners. Pres. of Teikoku Mus. Sch. from 1930 and put into practice his belief that any child could reach a high standard of ability as a violinist by adapting external stimuli.
