Quick Reference

1. Integral membrane proteins of synaptic vesicles and secretory vesicles with a regulatory role. SV2A (742 aa) and SV2C are associated with insulin-containing granules and synaptic-like microvesicles, whereas SV2B is present only on synaptic-like microvesicles in neural tissue. SV2 is the protein receptor for botulinum neurotoxin A. SV2 related protein (SVOP, 548 aa) is probably an anion transporter (SLC22 family) and is expressed in most regions of the brain, but not elsewhere.

2. A line of nontumorigenic human lung fibroblasts, MRC-5 SV2 cells.
