Ballet in one act with choreography by Béjart and music by P. Henry and P. Schaeffer. Premiered 26 Jul. 1955 by Ballet de l'Etoile, Paris, with Béjart and Seigneuret. It was Béjart's first success and explores the dilemma of modern man, trapped between his instincts and modern technology. It has been revived for his various companies and for Cologne Ballet (1963).
