(1921–45), Anglo-French shop assistant who, after her husband was killed during the second El Alamein battle in November 1942, joined the ATS and then FANY and the SOE, and in June 1944 was parachuted into the Limoges area to strengthen local resistance groups. She was captured, and executed at Ravensbrück; and was posthumously awarded the George Cross (see decorations).
