Heterotrimeric phospholipase toxin (EC 18.104.22.168), from the taipan snake Oxyuranus scutelatus scutelatus. All three subunits (α, β, γ) have homology with pancreatic phospholipase A2. It binds to neuronal pentraxins and blocks release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction. Said to be the most potent vertebrate toxin.
