team teaching

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A strategy which involves two or more teachers working simultaneously with the same group of learners. This might be employed for practical reasons in particularly large classes when the pupil–teacher ratio justifies the deployment of more than one teacher; or on educational grounds where the subject expertise of more than one teacher is necessary for the students' learning of a specific topic. Team teaching is also useful for conducting peer evaluations, since it allows teachers an opportunity to provide reciprocal feedback on one another's performance.

Subjects: Education.
