A prominent religious leader and nephew as well as a student of Ashraf Ali Thanawi. Trained at the madrasa of Deoband, he was best known for his moving sermons. He participated in the movement to establish the state of Pakistan. After independence he migrated to Pakistan and was active in Islamic politics.
